Inflatable 8m x 5m Dome Stage
For smaller outdoor events where space, budget, or build time are tight, our inflatable 8m x 5m dome stage roof offers a practical, professional solution.
Whether you’re running a one-day festival, a community event, or a compact live music stage, this inflatable roof provides a covered performance area without the complexity of a full truss roof system.
It can be used as a stage cover, a simple performance shelter, or a temporary event structure – giving you flexibility on site while keeping artists and equipment protected.

Key Features
-
8m x 5m footprint – ideal for compact stages and tighter event sites
-
Fast setup – fully inflated and ready to use within around 30 minutes of arrival on site
-
Flexible positioning – can be placed directly onto grass or installed over a stage deck
-
Suitable for small festivals and one-day events – music stages, community shows, presentations and DJ sets
-
Enclosed dome design – helps shield performers and equipment from light wind and rain
-
Clean, modern look – works well for public events, brand activations and council-led programmes
-
Cost-effective alternative to a full truss roof stage for smaller productions
Based in Dorset, we offer inflatable stage roof hire across the South West and beyond, with options to integrate sound, lighting, and power as required.
When Is the Inflatable Dome the Right Choice?
The inflatable 8m x 5m dome stage roof works particularly well for:
-
One-day festivals and town events where access windows are tight and quick setup is important
-
Village fêtes, galas and community days needing a small, tidy stage cover on a limited budget
-
Compact music stages where a full Milos-style roof system would be physically or financially excessive
-
Short-run programmes such as outdoor cinema intros, local authority events, or seasonal activations
-
Pop-up stages and roadshows where the site layout changes from event to event
If you’re not sure whether to use the inflatable roof or a truss-based stage, we’re happy to advise based on your site plan, schedule and production needs.
Inflatable Dome vs Milos MR1 8m x 6m Roof Stage
We now offer both our inflatable 8m x 5m dome stage roof and our Milos MR1 8m x 6m roof system. Each has its place, depending on the scale of your event, technical requirements, and budget.
Below is a straightforward comparison to help you decide what’s right for your event.

In simple terms:
-
Choose the inflatable dome if you need a small, quick, budget-conscious stage cover.
-
Choose the Milos MR1 if you need more rigging capacity, higher production values and a full festival roof.
If required, we can also supply both systems across a site – for example, Milos MR1 on the main stage and the inflatable dome on a second or community stage.
Technical Overview
We aim to keep things simple for organisers, while still giving you enough detail to plan properly.
Inflatable 8m x 5m Dome Stage Roof – typical use:
-
Installed directly on grass, hardstanding, or over a stage deck
-
Suitable for small live bands, DJs, speeches and presentations
-
Works well with compact PA systems and simple lighting packages
-
Can be integrated with additional staging, barriers, and power as needed
The inflatable dome is not intended to replace a full-scale festival roof system. It is a practical middle ground between an open stage and a full truss roof – ideal when you want performers under cover and a clear focal point, without the cost and footprint of a larger structure.
We will always discuss site conditions, access, and exposure to wind when specifying any outdoor stage cover.
Other Uses: Shelter and Temporary Structures
Because of its design, the 8m x 5m inflatable dome can also be used beyond traditional performance staging, for example:
-
Information points or control areas at outdoor events
-
Meet-and-greet or signing areas for artists and guests
-
Covered breakout spaces for workshops or community activities
-
Temporary shelters for activation zones, small bars or sponsor areas (subject to layout and safety checks)
If you’ve got a slightly unusual use in mind, we can assess the practicality and advise on the safest way to set it up.

Frequently Asked Questions – Inflatable 8m x 5m Dome Stage Roof
How much space do I need for the inflatable stage roof?
The dome itself is 8m x 5m, but we normally ask for a clear, level area of around 10m x 7m.
This gives enough room for anchoring, access, and safe working space for the crew.
Can it go directly on grass?
Yes. The structure can sit directly on grass, hardstanding or on top of a stage deck.
If the ground is very uneven or soft, we may recommend ground protection or additional anchoring.
How long does it take to set up?
Once we are on site and in position, the roof is usually fully inflated within about 30 minutes.
We allow extra time for anchoring, power, and any additional equipment you’re hiring with it.
What power does the inflatable roof require?
The blower requires a standard 13A supply. It needs to remain running to keep the structure inflated.
We can provide power if required.
Can I rig lighting or PA from the roof?
The inflatable roof has limited rigging capacity.
It’s suitable for lightweight fixtures, but not for the loads you’d expect from a truss roof such as our Milos MR1.
Most events use ground-supported lighting stands or a compact PA on stands.
Is it suitable for bad weather?
It offers good basic protection from light rain and wind, but it is not a replacement for a fully wind‑rated truss roof.
If high winds are forecast, we will always advise based on conditions and site exposure.
Can it be branded?
External branding is possible in some cases using printed banners or applied panels, depending on shape and fixings.
We can discuss options once we know your artwork and event layout.
What types of events is it best for?
Small festivals, community events, local authority programmes, one‑day shows, DJ sets, speeches, and compact live music stages.
It’s ideal where budget, space or access are tight.
Can it be used as a shelter rather than a stage?
Yes. Many organisers use it as a temporary covered area for information points, signings, workshops or small activity zones.
We can advise whether your planned use is suitable.
Does the inflatable roof come with staging?
It can be supplied on its own or with a stage deck in whatever size you need.
We can also supply sound, lighting and power as a full package.
Do you deliver outside Dorset?
Yes. We’re based in Dorset but regularly work across the South West and surrounding areas.
If you're unsure whether we cover your location, just ask.
